DCM Data Systems traces its lineage to DCM Data Products, the first Indian IT company who have indigenously designed and manufactured 8 - bit and 16 - bit computers for Indian market. DCM Data Products started its operation in 1972. It went on to market and support hardware and associated system software through its pan-Indian reach. With the change in time and advent of branded computers, it has re-incarnated itself as services oriented company with strong focus on IT infrastructure like System Integration, Hardware and Software maintenance support. The transformation also brought about the change in the name to DCM Data Systems. In 1999, when its R&D arm got split to a separate software development company, DCM Data Systems with its infrastructure hardware and software focus, went on to provide on-site, off-site and off-shore services, globally. The company enjoyed the status of a "True Blue" partner of IBM in India and a Service only business partner (SOBP) in the US . It was also an authorized training partner of IBM in India . The company has a hi-tech competency center in India , which enables it to continuously enhance and hone the skills of its engineers. The competency center also acts as a "Proof of Concept" center, to simulate customized solutions for its customers.
