Data Systems Overview
Our lineage traces back to DCM Data Products, the first Indian IT company to have indigenously designed and manufactured 8-bit and 16-bit computers for the Indian market. DCM Data Products started its operations in 1972. The division was instrumental in designing, developing and manufacturing the entire hardware, system software and compilers for the indigenously conceived personal computers. Some of the path breaking products included the Galaxy, Olympia and Zeus range of Computers. It went on to market and support hardware and associated system software through its pan-India reach. With the changing times and advent of branded computers, the company was re-incarnated as a services company with strong focus on System Integration, Hardware and software maintenance support. The transformation also brought about the change in name to DCM Data Systems.
In 1999, when the R&D arm of the company was split into a separate software development company, DCM Data Systems with its focus on hardware, maintenance, trainings and value added services, went on to provide on-site and offsite services. The company enjoyed the status of a “True Blue” partner of IBM in India and a service only business partner in the US. It was also an authorized training partner of IBM in India. The company setup a hi-tech competency center in India, to continuously enhance and hone the skills of its engineers. The competency center also serves as a “Proof of Concept” center, to simulate customized solutions for the customers.
The Unit was repositioned into a pure IT Services Company in 2007 focusing on IT Infrastructure and affiliated Services. While most of our customers possessed the physical infrastructure to host their computing resources, they lacked the human and process assets to support round-the-clock SLAs and meet their long-term IT centric business-alignment strategies. Recognizing this need of our customers,DCM re-aligned its business around IT Infrastructure services including monitoring, management, and backup solutions administered onsite or remotely from our fully equipped Network Operations Center (NOC).
Our services and processes are aligned to help clients meet their business goals by freeing them to focus on their core business needs, while we manage their complex heterogeneous IT infrastructure.
